Will's First Christmas

Will with his Aunties! And with Great-Grandma Darlene at the Ainge Christmas party.

Who Will Pop First?

Dale and Brittany comparing bellies at Grandma's Christmas party.

I think Brittany will win the "First to Lose Belly" prize in February when baby Wadsworth is born ;)

NO MORE SLACKERS!!

After being ribbed forever about being "blog slackers" I'm finally adding a new post to our blog.

Merry Christmas to all our friends and family. We had a wonderful holiday season! It was a little quiet this Christmas morning with only "the clump" home. (Clump = Caitlyn, Brycen, and Emily; Caitlyn's definition for the unmarried kids that always get clumped together). Brittany and Jason spent the holidays with the Wadsworth's in "snowy" Las Vegas and Amber, Jeff and Will spent Christmas with the Handy's in Taylorsville. We all had a great day, and are thankful for the blessings of health, safety, and love!

Can't wait for Grandbaby Number 2!!

We're so excited, we're going to be Grandparents again in February. Brittany & Jason announced while we were visiting them in Chicago in July that their first baby is on the way!! Brittany experienced a lot of "all-day" sickness for a while, but is feeling a little better now. Jason's internship with Leo Burnett ended in August and we're enjoying having them back in Utah for a bit while they decide where the employment wind takes them!

William Jeffrey Handy

Hi, everyone! Surprise!! William Jeffrey Handy decided to make his appearance 3 1/2 weeks early. He was born on Monday, April 21, 2008, at 10:56 p.m. weighing in at 4 lbs. 13 ozs. and 17 inches long. He is BEAUTIFUL!!! Mom and William (& dad) are doing great! Amber went into the hospital Sunday night with preeclampsia (HELLP syndrome) which pushed her delivery date up -- and 28+ hours later, William made his debut!

Grandma Judy and Grandpa Dale and Aunt Caity and Auntie Em were there and survived the labor & delivery amazinging well!

Love to all

Happy Birthday Emily

We all had a great time celebrating Emily's birthday! Congrats Em! We all love ya.

We all enjoyed a great meal together, and some dude sang a song in Italian and gave Emily a really good chocolate cake.

Emily got a sweet new set of wheels.

As good as the cake at the restaurant was, we had much better at home. We just had to wait for Em to blow out the candles so we could enjoy it.

Who could resist Dale's Rich (literally) & Famous Chocolate Torte?

Not I...

...not my sister Kaitlyn...

...and certainly not self diagnosed chocolate torte-aholic Brittany. Don't tell her I told you. ;)

Like Cats and Dogs

Oh the joy and pitter-patter or tiny feet around the house! No it's not the upcoming grandchild, it's the dog and the cat going at it again. While the whole spectacle looks and sounds a little disturbing, they both actually have a lot of fun in the process.

If the hat fits...

...and even if it doesn't (as is usually Dale's case), it's still fun to try it on and have an impromptu fashion show!

While raiding Grandma Ainge's stash of antique hats for Emily's crazy hat b-day party, we all had a really good time trying on different hats and wistfully thinking of a time when one could reasonably don such elaborate head apparel.

Sorry the picture quality is so poor, this was so random that all we had was our camera phone to capture the moment.

If only they had been born 80 years ago.

I must say, I'm looking quite debonair. And Brittany looks quite...whatever the female equivalent to debonair is.

Dale does his impression of the Sears (I think?) men's catalog, while Judy wonders why she needs to be in this picture if it's a men's catalog.

Congratulations Brittany!

I just wanted to tell Brittany congratulations on finishing half the year. I know it's been hard and a bit stressful, but just think- you're closer to the end of the school year than the beginning! Good job and we're all proud of you.

Anxiously Awaiting 1st Grandbaby

We can hardly wait to be Grandpa Dale & Grandma Judy! Baby Handy is expected to arrive on or around May 17, 2008!!! I had to start a "countdown to baby" so I don't have to keep counting on my fingers (and toes & everybody else's fingers!)
